Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what data PaperClean ("we", "us") collects when you use the Service at paperclean.ip1.cc, why we collect it, and how we handle it.
1. Data we collect
Account data. When you purchase a subscription, FastSpring (our Merchant of Record) shares the following with us: email address, country (for tax purposes), subscription tier, and subscription status. We do not receive your payment-card details at any point.
Usage data. For each API request we record: API-key identifier, timestamp, endpoint called, image size (in bytes), and response status. This is used to enforce plan limits and to diagnose errors. These logs are retained for up to 90 days and then purged.
Image content. Images you submit are processed in memory and discarded immediately after the response is returned. We do not store the content of your documents on persistent media. Images never leave our servers except as the processed response returned to you.
Web analytics. The public website uses minimal first-party logging (IP address, user-agent, referer) to detect abuse and measure traffic. No third-party behavioural advertising cookies are used.
2. Why we collect it
- To provide and operate the Service.
- To enforce plan limits and bill correctly.
- To detect abuse and protect the Service.
- To communicate with you about your account, billing, and material changes to the Service.
3. Legal bases (EEA/UK)
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on: (a) contract, to provide the Service you paid for; (b) legitimate interests, for abuse detection and service improvement; (c) legal obligation, to retain billing records as required by tax law.
4. Sharing
We share personal data only with:
- FastSpring (Bright Market, LLC) — Merchant of Record, for billing and subscription management. Their privacy policy is available at fastspring.com/privacy.
- Infrastructure providers that host the Service (for server hosting, email delivery). These providers act as processors and are bound by contract to the purposes above.
- Authorities, if required by a valid legal order.
We do not sell personal data.
5. International transfers
The Service operator is located in Argentina; our infrastructure may be located in the European Union, the United States, or other jurisdictions. Where we transfer personal data internationally, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards.
6. Security
All traffic to the Service is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). API keys are stored hashed. Access to production systems is restricted to authorized personnel and audited. No system is 100% secure; if we become aware of a security incident affecting your data, we will notify you without undue delay.
7. Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, export, or object to the processing of your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@paperclean.ip1.cc. We will respond within 30 days.
To delete your account and associated data, email us from the address associated with your subscription. Note that certain billing records must be retained for up to 10 years to comply with applicable tax regulations.
8. Children
The Service is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect data from children under 16.
9. Cookies
The public site uses only strictly necessary, first-party cookies (for example, to remember your language preference). We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
10. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy. The "Last updated" date above reflects the latest revision. Material changes will be announced to active subscribers by email at least 14 days before taking effect.
