Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of PaperClean ("Service"), a document image processing web application and API available at paperclean.ip1.cc. By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Service description
PaperClean is a hosted image-processing service that takes photos of paper documents and returns cleaned, print-ready versions (shadow removal, perspective correction, contrast enhancement, background whitening). The Service is offered via a web interface and a programmatic API.
2. Accounts and API keys
Some features require an API key issued to the email address used at purchase. You are responsible for keeping your API key confidential. Any action performed using your API key is considered performed by you. If your key is compromised, contact us immediately and we will reissue it.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service to process content that is illegal, infringes third-party rights, or contains malware.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the Service.
- Resell, sublicense, or redistribute the Service as a standalone product without a written agreement.
- Perform load testing, denial-of-service attacks, or any activity that degrades Service quality for other users.
- Exceed the request-rate limits of your plan in a way that circumvents billing.
4. Billing and payments
Paid subscriptions are processed by FastSpring (Bright Market, LLC) acting as Merchant of Record. Subscription fees are billed monthly in advance in USD. Prices, plans, and usage limits are listed on the Pricing page and are the binding reference. We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice to active subscribers; changes apply at the start of the next billing cycle.
5. Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time through the customer portal link in your purchase confirmation email. Cancellation stops future renewals; access to paid features continues through the end of the current billing period.
6. Service availability
We aim for high availability but do not guarantee 100% uptime. Scheduled maintenance, third-party outages, and force-majeure events may cause temporary interruptions. We are not liable for consequential damages resulting from downtime.
7. Content ownership and processing
You retain full ownership of the images you submit. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process those images solely to provide the Service. Submitted images are processed in memory and are not retained after the response is delivered. Aggregated, non-identifying usage metrics (counts, timings) may be retained to operate and improve the Service.
8. Intellectual property
The Service, its source code, user interface, documentation, and brand are the property of PaperClean or its licensors. These Terms do not transfer any intellectual-property rights to you beyond the right to use the Service as described.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "AS IS" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be error-free or meet specific accuracy thresholds on particular documents.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or relating to the Service in any twelve-month period shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service during that period. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.
11. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or if your account poses a security risk. In case of non-breach termination by us, any unused prepaid fees will be refunded on a prorated basis.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to FastSpring (Bright Market, LLC) for billing-related matters, and by the laws of Argentina (where the operator is based) for all other matters, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the latest revision. Material changes will be announced to active subscribers by email at least 14 days before taking effect.
